MS Simon Princess with new DNV class until 2031

Year	Simon Princess (Ex. Grampian Pioneer), Standby Pioneer) was commissioned in 1981 as a standby vessel for the North-Sea oil industry, operated by a UK shipping company. This was the occupation until 2015, when she was flagged to Norway and underwent a complete renovation, becoming a specialized and modern vessel for the aquaculture industry. The vessel is in continuous operation and has become a recognized tool, based on a history of good delicing results, fish welfare, seaworthiness and adaptability to the complex variety of aquaculture locations.
Model	The vessel is in daily operations and has since the beginning of 2016, deliced just south of 300 million salmon and sea trout. During this period the vessel has had several long-time charterers and returning customers, both for the summer and winter seasons. This have allowed us to learn the vessel and equipment, leading to a fruitful cooperation creating the best solutions for us as the operator, our customers, and the fish welfare. Where other similar vessels have operational limitations due to design and certificates, the Simon Princess is able to set sail regarding of season or weather. This flexibility combined with experienced the crew makes the Simon Princess a reliable and flexible resource for effective lice control and good fish welfare.

Passengers	The vessel was historically certificated to 130 pax. 8 big cabins with 2 on top and 2 extra cabins in the forepeak used as storeroom.
Capacity	In 2018, the owner invested in a new discharging solution allowing for the transfer of fish between cages without having to remove or loosen any mooring arrangements. This makes the process more effective for the Producer and safer for all parties involved. Together with our flexible hoses, this alternative setup makes for increased flexibility to adapt to the various requirements between fish sites. This is an example of where good and lasting relations between us as a service provider and the producers result in new and better solutions. These pipes are stored onboard the vessel and are ready to use at any time without having to return to a shore base for mobilization. The size and maneuverability of the Simon Princess makes it possible to move around the various sites in an effective and safe manner. To the left, you see an example of where the vessel has entered a site with a 9 x 9 cage setup to treat – a job that normally would have been only possible for smaller vessels with less capacity, alternatively barges. Farm Technician inspects fish welfare and efficiency during treatment. It is easy access to observe the fish pre-treatment on the top plateau, and post-treatment on the lower plateau below the farm technician in the picture. On the lower plateau, it is also possible to extract fish for lice counting and welfare scoring post-treatment. Both the vessel, Thermolicer, and crew can withstand rough conditions, which makes it possible to operate in harsh conditions and also reach exposed fish farms!

Salgsinformasjon

The vessel was rebuilt in 2015 / 2016 for approx Euro 12 million. Norsk Megling & Auksjon AS is the broker and assists the owner with the sale process. The owner is interested in selling the vessel including fish processing equipment on container lockers, but is open to splitting the vessel and fish handling equipment. The vessel is in Bømlo Shipyard and under docking and renewing the DNV class now to August 2031 and repainted outside. The vessel will be launched to the water today, 20 August 2026. Seatrail with DNV and the Norwegian Maritime Authority next week. New pictures, videos, and certificates will be published!
